Content Manager

We are looking for a content manager who will be responsible for driving content ideation, production, distribution, promotion and performance. A strategic focus and the ability to understand the needs of our customers is essential as well as the ability to proactively develop and deliver effective content across multiple channels. The content team is part of the Barksdale marketing team at their central services organization, which is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans and activities that help drive business growth across the globe, in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. The content manager will report into the head of marketing and has two direct reports.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Create and drive a strategic content and publishing plan
  • Manage the content team including a copywriter and graphic designer
  • Determine the execution priorities of the content plan in partnership with the central and regional marketing colleagues to ensure it adheres to the content guidelines, including brand and tone of voice
  • Conceptualize and produce compelling marketing collateral (online and offline) such as brochures, case studies, videos, infographics, white papers, as well as advertisements
  • Work with the digital marketing team to determine execution mix and content promotion
  • Work with global and regional colleagues across teams and functions to research, develop and share content
  • Repurpose existing content into multiple media
  • Write and produce content as well as edit and proof content for brand consistency, completeness, style, and accuracy
  • Develop and track success metrics in relation to content created
  • Manage agency and freelance resources if required

  • Diploma or degree in communications/PR, copywriting, advertising or related fields
  • Minimum of five years’ solid experience in content production and content marketing
  • Have proven experience in managing a team
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to move campaigns forward in a complex environment, while actively managing multiple stakeholders and maintaining project schedules and delivering on time
  • Highly creative with a proven ability to simultaneously develop and manage engaging and original campaigns across different channels
  • Proven copywriting and editing skills that adhere to brand and tone of voice guidelines
  • Track record for leveraging traditional, web and social media marketing channels
  • Demonstrable understanding of the target audience and expertise in creating content for a number of audiences
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent command of English as well as sound spelling and grammar skills
  • Strong conceptualization skills
  • Understanding of the wider marketing field
